Just leave him behind, as you would your child.NOT
why on Earth would you move where you cant keep your kids..I mean dog? Dogs are not disposable..I am not just being ignorant here..I actually had to live for 3 months in my car, with 6 big hairy dogs, in order to keep my dogs until I could find a place..Then lived with no running water or electricity, in order to keep them all.thankfully, things finally worked out..but if I hadnt done all that I could, I couldnt have lived with myself, or without my dogs.
Where there is a will, there is a way.
You committed to be a forever home for your dog when you adopted him when he was cute..As he is older, it will be hard on him to be deserted by you..You have kept him from having a loving, forever home, and then want to dispose of him. That is why shelters are overflowing! People have no sense of commitment, and pets are considered as toys for the moment..It is a disposable society..
If you dont love him enough to find a way, go to www.ack.org..then go to breeds..then go to chow, and find the breed club..they will have a coordinator for chow rescue..
Better yet, just have him euthenized, so he will never know how you have betrayed him..
Here is a little story for you> http://jimwillis0.tripod.com/tiergarten/.
Give him 2 a friend and ask him/her 2 take care of him!
Call your vet and ask if they know anyone that will take him.
ask 1 of your familymembers to keep him that way u can go and visit him.
Contact the breed rescues for both breeds: The rescues work nationally.
Go here and scrolldown the list until you find the GSDs and Chow-chows. Many breed rescues will take dogs that are 1/2 their breed.

Find a shelter with a "no kill" policy. They will find him a home no matter what. Advertise in your local paper with a picture of your dog. Check with your local Humane Society for more advice!! Good luck!! (fellow dog lover!)

you can post a picture of him and wait for responses..also try and find a no kill sanctuary..they use foster parents for the dogs..there great, ive adopted from one.
Why cant you take him? This is so tragic that this dog will have to leave his home. Poor doggie. I hope you find someone that will take him that you can trust. Whatever you do, dont give it away "free to good home". Give him to someone you know will give him a good life.
You should have looked for a rental that would allow pets, then you wouldnt have this problem.
you could put a add in the newspaper and see if that works or you could ask a friend to ask around and see if anyone would want him.
Im sorry you have to leave your pet behind.
Look for a "Rescue" group in your area. These are volunteers who will take in your dog and keep him until adopted by a suitable family. It will ease your worries about him going to a new home.

How can you not take him with you? Youre not much of a pet owner are you? Some people shouldnt even have pets, just like some people shouldnt have kids. Usually the same reasons too, the individual involved is a selfish little brat who only cares about themself. Why did you even get the dog in the first place?
Are you kidding me? You wait until two weeks before your move date to take start thinking about a home for your dog? Poor animal. Dont you think that you should have thought about this before you committed to moving somewhere? I bet you have not stopped to think how your dog would feel about this.
"A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself."
-Josh Billings (1818 - 1885)
Do you realize there are people who would give anything for their animals? People who would rather live in the street than give up their animals. People who put the expenses of their animals before their own. People who love their animals more than they love themselves. All you had to do was look for somewhere that accepted pets.
You dont deserve to have a dog.
Im with the last 3 posters, Ive also lived in my car, then spend 2 years living in a barn just so I could keep my dogs.
You adopted a dog without commitment, now you want to get rid of him because youre moving. What, dogs cant be moved? You didnt know the new place doesnt take dogs before you arranged to move? You only discovered with two weeks to go that you cant take your dog?
Sheesh!
find out tif any of your friends waant him or you could put a notice up and interveiw these people andfind out what there house hold is like and maybe even ask to see there home
kill it and cook it to eat and u will not forget it until u die
thats very mean but well, you could either give him to a close friend who loves to have a dog, or ask a friend to keep as a home for the dog. than you still pay for the food. etc. but what the hell. whats wrong taking him with you??? a dog also has feeling ya know. sad to hear that you wanna get rid of it. what about your conscience?
